Tehran is willing to resume nuclear talks with the United States provided that it is handled with "dignity" and "respect", Tehran's foreign minister has stated.

Abbas Araghchi stated exclusively dialogue worked, and revealed fresh requests had originated from intermediaries to reopen negotiations with the Trump administration. He said Iran did not have undeclared nuclear sites, and Iran was not yet able to permit the International Atomic Energy Agency to visit struck enrichment centers for safety concerns.

Walking a Complex Path

The foreign minister is walking a challenging path since Iran does not want be seen to be operating from a position of vulnerability, and he emphatically stated that Iran had come out stronger in military terms and emotionally from the coordinated strike on its enrichment centers in June.

He was addressing at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he reiterated that Iran had "an inalienable right to refine atomic fuel domestically that it will always maintain" – the primary cause of the impasse in the previous talks.

Earlier Negotiations Suddenly Ended

The earlier sessions of negotiations between the US and Iran were ended suddenly and acrimonious termination on 12 June when Israel, with Washington's assistance, struck Tehran's atomic facilities in a fortnight-long engagement that ended with the American leader claiming the locations had been obliterated. Afterward, EU nations exercised their authority to reimpose global restrictions, but Iran asserts they have not had a substantial consequence.

Perfect Agreement Suggested

Iran's diplomats said they felt they had attained a "magic solution" to the uranium processing matter in prior discussions, when it was decided an local partnership with American involvement could process nuclear material. Each party would have been able to declare success since local refinement would have continued and the US could be assured that Iran's enrichment initiative was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been agreed in the talks that US nuclear scientists could operate on Iranian soil, but that was a natural consequence of the cooperative offer. Diplomats asserted three times they had reached agreement with Trump's special envoy the US official only for the deal to collapse due to "detractors in America".

Current Position

Tehran representatives said the partnership proposal was now withdrawn, but it seems highly likely the suggestion could be revived in various formats if negotiations reopen.

The American leader last week claimed he had been getting signals that Iran desired to resume discussions, but confidentially Iran's diplomats state they are not yet obtaining clear proposals from Washington either directly or from important Middle Eastern intermediaries, such as the Qatari government, the Egyptian leadership, the Omani authorities and Saudi Arabia. The Iran's state department has been criticized of passivity in the face of the US president's straightforward manner, but Iran states dialogue is not part of a performance.

Negotiating Stance

In his address to the conference, aimed to paint the US as a hegemonic power that misuses the idea of international law, the foreign minister declared the two-week conflict showed the conflict could not be resolved by combat operations. He stated the strikes began with a Washington's ultimatum for an unconditional Iranian surrender and ended with an unconditional call for a halt to hostilities.

Iran is certain the opening assaults from Tel Aviv were executed with complete American awareness and coordination, making faith hard to reestablish.

Diplomacy Stays the Primary Resolution

Araghchi stated: "Tehran was not the one that had abandoned dialogue; it was the United States and the European states that had consistently sought to dictate their will during the talks. Negotiations can still be viable and stays the primary answer to settle disputes, but its standards, regulations and principles must be followed."

"Provided that they address to the Iranian people with the approach of respect and honor, they will get a reply in the equivalent language."

Repair and Rebuilding

In what is portrayed by Tehran representatives as the battle of restoration and rebuilding, the foreign minister said he was certain Iran's security strengths "are considerably enhanced than before 13 or 14 June of this year. Our entire military infrastructure have been restored. We learned multiple understandings from this conflict; we have identified our internal vulnerabilities and the weaknesses of the opponent."

He stated: "We effectively endured this engagement. Our nuclear technology, which they intended to obliterate, remains in place. The installations and equipment, if damaged, will be rebuilt; what is essential is the determination of the citizens of Tehran and then the social solidarity that they aimed at, but were unable to break. The Iranian people have grown more powerful, more integrated, and more backing of the leadership and the state in the face of this assault."
